Isn't it limited by the refresh rate of your monitor anyway?

That logic is the basis for using vsync -- It makes each frame line up as well as possible with every refresh of the monitor, turning excessive video frames per second into smooth transitions.

When i type /maxfps it shows that default is set to 200 while max is also 200.

Yeah, simply typing "/maxfps 1000" doesn't mean you will get 1000 fps. Your hardware still has to be good enough to get there.

I can get 1000 fps, when I'm looking a wall and not moving :D

Moving my FPS is around 600 to 900, and when decreasing the screen resolution it will be in 1000, but not like playing in low resolution!

I tried setting maxfps at 200 and it used to fluctuate between 200/150. Now I have set my fps at 60 and it never fluctuates, I kind of like consistency :D

I've pretty much been in the same position as you until recently, this computer I have now is still years behind the current standards though :(

I second this. Smooth 200 feels much nicer than spikey 2-300. And good graphics at 200 feels much nicer than poor graphics at 500. YMMV
