11:30am EST time. Kiiiiiwiiiiii Other highlights. -Spain is playing VERY well. -Senegal, 41st rank in the world, lucky just to be in the 24 team tourney? They just upset Croatia to go 2-1 and are closing in on making the knockout round. Underdog of the tournament so far! -Dante Exum only getting about 12 minutes per game off the bench so far, only averaging 2 pts, 2 asts.

Australia defeats Lithuania surprisingly.
Ukraine with the massive upset over Turkey. USA defeats New Zealand comfortably.

Is team China in this world cup?

I don't think we're gonna make it out of groups :( The lack of big men is really hurting us/we should have beat Turkey and couldn't close it out.

Rob Loe has a bright future :) Doesn't look good for New Zealand. :( The good news is you guys -can- beat Ukraine & Finland. Ukraine & Dominican Republic could easily lose two in a row. That'd make all three teams 2-3. I'm not sure how tiebreakers work with FIBA, though.

Flint, New Zealand made it! Congrats. :)
Knockout Round of 16 starts Saturday. Here's a quick rundown for those who don't follow this quite as closely. Favorites Spain USA Greece Contenders Brazil Lithuania Slovenia Dark Horse Contenders France Croatia Argentina Turkey Australia Underdogs Serbia Dominican Republic New Zealand Mexico Cinderella Senegal

That was a such a close game against the Finn's. Lithuania here we come!

Was surprised seeing Lithuania 1st in the group. Lithuania doesnt have 2 best players (Kalnietis and Kleiza) and still managed to finish 1st in the group. Well, thats not too much suprising, but LTU have been in bad situation and win against Slovenia + Australias fail helped them :)
Also, before this tournament started, people expected Ukraine to be dark horse. I was suprised seeing DOM passing group stage, not Ukraine. Serbia & Turkey are really bad this year, considering how they used to play. France needs T.Parker. They are not same without him :)

Serbia with the upset over Greece.
Turkey hits a game winning 3 with 5 seconds left to defeat Australia 65-64!!!
Remaining 8. Favorites Spain USA Contenders Brazil Lithuania Slovenia Dark Horse Contenders France Turkey Underdogs Serbia

Why you rate Serbia as underdogs? They are known as strong team in Europe, almost equal to Slovenia and surely not worse than Turkey.
09 Sep 14, 11:57AM
11th in the world and 2-3 in group play led me to calling them underdogs. :)
Feel free to disagree though. Just my opinion.

serbia still only an underdog? :D
10 Sep 14, 08:15PM
Well, yes. USA/Spain are the favorites and Lithuania is legit. :)
But it does seem like I underestimated Serbia. But that is their fault for going 2-3 in group play. :p
10 Sep 14, 11:41PM
France upsets Spain.
Le thanks!

USA is now a mile ahead talent-wise compared to the other 3 teams.
But they have to stay focused and play smart, unselfish basketball. If they get arrogant or underestimate these other teams, they will lose.
11 Sep 14, 02:19AM
They will win pretty easily now...
11 Sep 14, 05:34AM
Well, I expect match of the tournament today. Most talented team USA vs Lithuania, which have great teamwork and are well supported :)
