Over the last month or two, Gibstick, Bukz, GD, V-Man and I have been developing a syntax highlighter and text editor designed specifically for editing documents created or used by cube-based games, which we named Cubepad. We've decided to release it to the public for sort of a beta-run, even though it's marked as an 'official' release.
Currently, Cubepad supports highlighting for the "common" languages Boo, Coco, C#, HTML, Java, Javascript, Patch, PHP, Tex, VB.NET, and XML. It also supports highlighting for Cubescript, cube map configuration files, and cube server logs (all of which are based off of custom syntax definition files). Cubepad can also be used to edit plain text (.txt) or rich text (.rtf) documents, using the rich text editor.

The application was written in C# using the .NET framework, so it can not run on *nix or Mac operating systems at the moment.

C# is way too pointy to do that.

any of you that are unhappy that this is "windows only" should realize that you would still probably be able to run it with WINE

Nice, but some commands like menuitem aren't coloured, I suppose it's a WIP....
Anyway, it would be nice adding a library with all all CS commands, e.g.
 Insert > Command > <commands list>

You sure you have .NET framework (preferrably 2.0 or up) installed? See:

Hehe, the current list is rather barebones but we can always add more later.
Makke: I know how you don't want to bloat your old computer but do it just this once for us :D

No denying that it is somewhat of a resource-stealer, but it is rather useful sometimes.
