If oNe were to play HsoS - A french team. They are new to assaultcube and we actually played them not long ago. We won like 25-0 but just a few days ago, after them playing really good clans for a while we only won 12-8. This is a great improvement and I know they will be very good in the future

Yes they are an important part of the community and give much to the game, but so do the pub players, the mappers, the devs, the server ops, the gema players, the ladder coders. This game does not revolve around an elite group who feel that their life is not complete without demonstrating they can beat someone at a computer game!

yeah, i understand that(although i would hardly call a group with no power in the game an elitist group). if the competitive side is strengthened and encouraged then the other aspects of the game benefit as well. you can improve pub gameplay as well (from a dev standpoint) by adding a centralized ladder, login system, seperate masterserver for mods, etc. but then we're straying away from the discussion. you also need devs for that hehe.

yeah, but i don't know about you but when i can't play the game i get angry and take it out on poor hype members who try to slyly par me off and go play inters.

another statement that i'd like to add:
if you get someone into the development team who can lead it well and knows what the hell needs to be done, we'll actually see some sort of progress to advance AC and make it a whole lot more popular. for reference: http://sourceforge.net/projects/actiongame/develop/. here you see only minor additions to the code, nothing done that vastly improves the game, and there are so, so many things that can be done to do this. not much is being done in the mapping department(no complaints regarding my maps, i really don't care, i just want to see more good maps in the package and some of those maps happen to be mine, so many maps can be fixed up a bit and put in to the package). i reworked iceroad a bit myself(to the point where it was playable in matches, very enjoyable gameplay), put 10+ hours in, sent it to the devs and nothing.
all this discussion means NOTHING if there is no development.

From my experience, you can only improve if playing against clans somewhat in your ballpark, better or worse. Teamwork grows, you start outshooting them, etc. Slowly playing better clans over time.

When we had to play aG, for their 3v3 tournament. Couldn't even get 5 AR shots off, even if you started shooting before them. xD

For example, B} recently fought against an aliased group called the .n3rdz or something.

I wish I could wrap my head around what is better for AC, but Im a n00b... Ill try though;
Add a login system (client auth)
Make map spec to be server based.
Allow gameplay mods such as gema !cmds´ , only headshot servers or zombie ones (among others) to show in MS...
My opinion is that we have reached a point were its easier to completely ignore (even try to kill) other game modes such as gemas or HScity maps, because its a burden developers are not willing to carry.
Let the game stale, so its easier to handle.
For example, the shotgun is a joke.
If we could choose not to have the shotgun completely, and make that a server based decision, people would come up with million funny ways to add the current shotgun and find a fitting game mode.
But ctf ac_official map with more than 3 shotguns per team is not fun, its a piece of shit experience. Maybe the sg have fun, and thats important to acknowledge. Give them the possibility to go fill a shotgun server.
Hell, you could give a list of servers depending on the weapon you choose.
Like, choose your AC experience.
THAT BE AWESOME!
Give players 20 days free for all normal ms connect. Then ask them if they want to go through a tutorial where they are given different options!
Then with the answer build a particular ms connect for the player to use!
