I had a bit of a problem as I am using MAC.
I got everything to work accept for when I tick GUIserver and click start nothing opens up and AC just goes away. When I untick GUIserver and just run it normally my server works. I had some help with Ronald_Reagan and he just told me to post here because everything should be working.

Finally updated the GUIServer. Cool!
Now I just need an internet connection that doesn't suck.

I don't get it. When I extract the files to my installation and attempt to run the new binary, I get a permissions error (because it's not marked as an executable.) When I do my "chmod +x" magic and try again, I get a file not found error.
Bash can complete the filename and list it in the directory. So it does indeed exist. Can anyone help me out?
If you have a 64-bit OS, this is exactly what will happen when you try to run a 32-bit executable. Do you?
Damn those guys who shot FatELF down for personal interests.

And I can't be bothered to make the userland multilib haha. I'll compile thio sometime later. Thanks! EDIT: Wow. How on Earth is this compiled? Lot's of filenames are changed, so I'm not sure if I need to make a new makefile or do a bunch of renaming. Haha...

Do the following: (Some of the words may not be exactly as they show in your OS because my OS is in Spanish) 1 - Right click the file "ac_guiserver" and select "Properties" 2 - Go to the third tab "Permissions" (probably) 3 - Check the box next to "exec...". The one that says that the OS should run the file as a program... 4 - Double click the file "ac_guiserver" and it should run... I hope it helps.

Ok..I finally got it to work, but, I can only run one server and i have no idea about its name and configs. Please tell me there's a way to set one gui for each server I need to run and how to do it...Thanks.
Make copies of server.bat, server.sh or whatever you use to launch it, then use the -C switch to set multiple servercmdline files, such as
-Cconfig/servercmdline1.txt -Cconfig/servercmdline2.txt etc... By default, it will use servercmdline.txt found in /config. Alternatively, make multiple launcher scripts with different switches for each (ex. server1.bat, server2.bat, server3.bat).

Thanks a lot Gibstick...
24 Jan 11, 11:59PM
Well...here I am again...I can't change the default config...every time I start quiserver (for Linux) i get some default config loaded and after changing all Gibstick propossed it stays the same...Help please...I really like the GUI and I'd love to have my servers running with it...
Thanks.

That makes 2 of us Nativo.
Havent looked over if its my maprot.cfg thats loaded but im 100% that my servercmdline.txt is not used. So i run the server via Terminal atm. Edit: Did some testing now. Starting GUIserver: [SELECT ALL] Code: logging started: console(INFO), file(DISABLED), syslog(INFO, "AssaultCube[local#28763]", local6), timestamp(DISABLED) Starting server.sh: [SELECT ALL] Code: reading commandline parameters from file 'config/servercmdline.txt'
25 Jan 11, 02:03AM
Yep...In my case the default maprot and serverpwd are loaded but nothing else. I use the Terminal to load my servers but I wanted to be able to do stuff without having to connect to each server as a player...

[SELECT ALL] Code: logging local AssaultCube server (version 1104, protocol 1132/104) now.. The problem is i have server set for 8 client, kick threshold -3, ban threshold: -5, demo is set to 3 not 5 and the server has no name using GUI. The problem, as i see it, is that GUI is not reading my servercdmline.txt wich has this outputs. Edit: Cant even find demos via server GUI.

Are you sure you're running the GUI server from the right directory? That's a common reason for such errors.
(Note: I don't know which one it should be)

25 Jan 11, 12:53PM
What he means is, are you running it from /assaultcube, not /assaulcube/bin
25 Jan 11, 02:21PM
Yes.
Thats the installation folder. /bin is a folder in the installation folder so im not running via that. http://bildr.no/view/808364 If i try running from some other place the usually error msg is something like «cant read maprot.cfg» or «no maprot.cfg».
25 Jan 11, 07:04PM
The same happens to me but in my case it loads the maprot and passwords config...but this:
"holding up to 5 recorded demos in memory
server description: "" maxclients: 6, kick threshold: -5, ban threshold: -6" i don't know from where the program gets this commands...not from my servercmdline.txt that's for sure...
25 Jan 11, 07:48PM
Nativo: those are the defaults
25 Jan 11, 10:22PM
(This post was last modified: 25 Jan 11, 10:23PM by OpenSource.)
But if he, as i have, has change default settings why arent those settings loaded?
As he says: i don't know from where the program gets this commands...not from my servercmdline.txt that's for sure... My servercdmline.cfg reads: // Numbers of clients -c8 // Server name -n\f3DES|\f1Biohazard // Kick for - score -k -3 // Ban for - score -y -5 // Demo numbers in ram -D3 So why GUI remove the name, set it to 6 clients, 5 demos, kick to -5 and ban to -6 among others i dont get.
25 Jan 11, 10:26PM
Are you using the -C switch when running gui server?

Edit: Nothing.
Cant get it to read and use «config/servercmdline.txt».
