I want my server to run 24 hours daily.
So what to do?

rent a server from roxservers.com they are nice and cheap you can even install the svn in 1 click. and they are not on some laggy vps

Judging by the fact that you didn't realize you can run a serer 24/7 by leaving it running, I don't believe you should be operating one.

would have to do the maths but I guess that power costs + PC life shortened makes it more reasonable to rent it from a provider and thats probably cheaper too.
