This thread was not meant t create flames.
It was meant as a humerous reminder of both my poor photoshop skills (FAKE PICTURE) and the state of AC concerning steam.

regardless of whether or not steam is used as an advertising platform, the underlying rhetoric in everyone's answers is the same. there is a strong consensus against the acquisition of capital and i don't know why. it feels like the AC community is a hippy commune
there isn't any advertising on the main page. afaik there used to be advertising on the forums but there isn't any longer. $$$ is always useful, why not make some?

I believe a few are open source, but not free. So not really. Steam Greenlight has some trying to get voted in.

Since almost 2 years, I'm playing a little MMO (on flash) wich was in Free to Play, you could run 100% of the game without buying things with real money, all you could buy was 100% used to run the 21 expensive servers (256gb or RAM each) and nothing could affect the gameplay/give advantages. This is what happened when Steam came:

The game went down to hell, since the situation never stop getting worse and worse. AC is also a community game that can't handle 50K new players in the same day. It's as simple as that.
Steam also ruined the famous Counter Strike.

Finally, you argue a minimum and make sentences to explain why you said no...
...I affirm that.

In my head its just an elaborated way to say NO Steam is shit.
And I believe was the consensus (with obvious exceptions)

Hey I remember Realm of the Mad God! I think a new company took it over recently and made it even more of a P2W game, sadly.
On-topic (well, I guess): Can you imagine if AC somehow got Greenlit and then had 5,000 new players within 1-2 days?

Steam made the game famous and overplayed, Kabam (the company you spoke about) bough the game because of it, and yes it's even more P2W, but Steam is this the main players provider.

Yes, but the game will be a "MMOFPS", (massively multiplayer online first-person shooter), and it's not the goal of AssaultCube spirit;
The number does not define the quality.
