I would not suggest "doing" weapons. Your GF might get a little jealous.

In all seriousness;
Skinning, any image editor (I suggest PhotoShop or Gimp. Habluka will probably soon spam us about gimp)

Modeling, Blender is what a fair amount of people use. Its free. Its also more complicated than what you probably want to deal with. (I have a feeling you dont have much experience in this area.)

Also, if you just look around on the forums, you will find several tutorials. One about skinning, one about modeling. I dont know, I only browse this stuff.

Well StaTioN, i suggest you to learn how to work with:

1) Blender for the modeling, -> Wil take some time to learn!
2) Photoshop for the misc's, aint that hard.

According to common opinion, skinning is much harder than modelling.
Btw, instead of downloading pirated copies of PS (or even buying it, hell) use The GIMP.
