Hey L'enmerdeur. I don't think you and I have ever met, if not, it is nice to meet you and thanks for your interest in the mapping contest. While you can still enter and take a hit in theme points, your map really doesn't fit the theme of the contest. Otherwise I would say that it is a solid attempt at a map and overall it does some rather good. I hope this doesn't discourage you and I do hope to see you enter either this map in the contest and take a hit on points or enter a map that is more fitting for the contest. I would offer my help and advice, but I can not do so as I am a judge for the contest, though after the contest expires, if you want some teachings or advice, you can ask me, or several other members of the community. Thanks again and have a wonderful time mapping out there.

Well then i won't enter the contest, also because i dont have any maps that could fit for the contest, good luck to the other mappers! Anyway, thanks for answering me, aha i'm so dumb...

You can still enter L'enmerdeur. You don't HAVE to submit a map that fits the theme, you just won't get many points dedicated to theme. I'd hate to see your work towards a contest go to waste for nothing like that. I'm sorry I had to pop your bubble.

Well the map wasn't made FOR the contest, i've been working on it since december, someone told me about the event, so i thought "Why not".
It's useless to submit something when it doesnt respect the theme at all, it's also kind of unfair for the other mappers.

Well, hm after some reflection, i thought that maybe i'll enter my map in the contest, only if no "newcomer" mapper shows up, also because, even if the map was not made for the contest, it took me looooong hours to make it!

If you haven't released the map yet, I would suggest a couple of changes.
There are areas of your map that are fenced out, yet there is room for the player to squeeze over them, dropping into an area he can't get out from. I suggest you make use of the player clip entity and clip these areas off, so they are inaccessible. There are a few power lines a player might climb through the map, but seeing as the power line map model is mostly a walk through one, I would suggest you clip it as best you can so players can walk on them. There are numerous players out there who can practically fly over maps in AC, so if something is possible, they will find a way to climb there, no matter how unlikely it seems. The layout is okay, tho I do tend to get lost traversing the map as most walls are the same or similar. I would suggest to make a few notable structures, or maybe color some things different so the player can orient himself more easily. I also get an error about a missing map model: "pink/indus/palette" you might want to check it out. Aside from these minor things, I think the map really manages to convey the atmosphere of a frozen cave, almost like I'm actually there. It really is nicely made, tho I wonder how did that forklift ever drove to the place it is now ^^ Keep up the good work!

Only a few weeks left til the deadline. I would like to see a few more people enter. Also, I went ahead and put the money in the bank to buy the gift cards, so once the winners are announced I can get their e-mails and send it to them quicker then last time the gift cards were available (which was mostly my fault and I take blame for it). So good luck to everyone that has entered and may still yet enter.
