ads?
#1
Hi! I'm not sure ...
Recently the forum is showing ADS?
I'm getting advertising "banners" in the foot of the forum page.
You guys are taking my "cookies"?
What's the point? Promotion of the game, or disclose the forum?

If you want some help in online disclosure, let me know. I can help.

The ads were actually there before the DDoS attacks. They've simply come back as an alternate form of revenue to which then the donations thread conveniently came up.

This ads is not intrusive and can help AC devs (If it's a intentional ads, and not an ads from their hosting).

As above, AC website has always had ads, even the forum.

Following this logic, everyone who access the forum give relevancy to it. This increases the numbers. Great for ADS.
All who use this forum are already helping the project.
Keep the forum running is very important, new threads, posts, etc..
I and others are helping for years.
I just stopped to help when Luc@s banned me for doing it, take part it my way.

Just to register and post it's a contribution for the forum because it make the forum alive and active.

I understand and if he ban everyone just for little things, he will be alone to admire his own work...

Doing what?

Custom maps?
Custom mapmodels?
Custom ambient sounds?
Custom textures?
scripts?

If you did something of this I couldn't find anything on Akimbo. Can you upload them?

Just post on the forums is not considered a contribution [at least for me]. I would contribute whit money, but I don't have it.

Please. Who likes to create models and textures, create.
Who likes to feel special for doing this, please feel special.
Who likes to fix bugs in programs, please fix it.
Those who have money and want to donate, do so.
What I would ask, is that "think outside the box."

"doing what?" you ask me ...

Maybe I'm contributing giving space for you to promote yourself in my thread ... I dunno ...

Know how to operate the ADS? And enjoy the facebook button?
Your opinion is very important in this thread ... as well as your models are interesting in the game ...

so if you helping consists in viewing the forum and its ads (which must represents 0.0001$ since you started spamming around) and bitching about a facebook button nobody wants you to click i have to say i wouldn't really consider it as an actual helpful contribution.
