Hi i'm new to this forum and this will be my first tread so here I go. I need some help making a battle arena map for AssaultCube but I have a problem. When I go into editing mode and put a let's say a box of ammo when I come out of the editing mode and tried to pick it up it doesn't work so I empty my weapon and tried again and it still won't pick up can anyone help me here?

When you load the map up in another gamemode, missing pickups should be there.

Try saving the map and voting it again, this should solve your problem. It is just the way it works with pickups.

Ok I'll try that and let you know what happens.

The pickups are not there on the version of the map currently loaded, thus, like [SODA]___ME___ mentioned, the map needs to be saved and reloaded for the pickups to be visible/available outside of edit mode.
If you're on a server in coop-edit, the map also needs to be re-uploaded (/sendmap) to the server after saving the map.

You have lags in singleplayer?
/ontopic you must restart the map (in the mode you want just save and restart).

But Don't I need a CFG file to go with the CGZ file because All I have are back up of the map. Also how do you add waypoints for bots to use?

Waypoints are mysterious contents, just don't add it cause bots don't need it. :)

That aside, does anyone actually know how bot waypoints are supposed to work?

Read section 6 of cube_bot-readme.txt in your /docs folder. I've never done it myself, but it looks quite straightforward. If no waypoint file exists for a map, the map is flooded with them when it's loaded, but as I understand it they may be close to useless, depending on the layout.
Ignore the bit about monsters (and triggers and teleporters) ;) this file was copied from cube.

Ok But don't need CFG file to go with the CGZ file to respawn?

Maps don't require .cfg's - only if you want to use different mapmodels/textures/sounds/etc. that are not in /config/default_map_settings.cfg
If a map is loaded that doesn't have a corresponding .cfg - the engine automatically uses this /config/default_map_settings.cfg for it.
The only things you need to respawn on a map are team/FFA spawn points.

Your map does not meet quality requirements for multiplayer.

You can still vote the map in coop-edit (/coop mapname) to make the proper changes needed to get it working.

3 factors are needed to make a map playable in multiplayer.
Mean Height must be under 30
Max Area must be under 10000
All ent's must be placed correctly and spaced at a correct distance.
Its very easy to understand. I can help in game if needed.

No, you don't. Your map has been backed up when it was overwritten. Find it (yourmapname_somenumbers.BAK), remove the one you accidentally downloadedand rename the backup to yourmapname.ogz.
Also, choose a more original name so this won't happen again :P
