cant get any maps

i've started playing ac once more but there's a problem, ive got auto getmap ticked or crossed rather but im never on the correct map and so can't spawn. Something tells me im terribly uninformed about something.

Make sure your map folder can be written to.

i hadn't edited a thing since i redownloaded it so i dont see why thatd be the problem. strangely a friend of mine who i introduced to this game has had the same problem, so i was thinking this was widespread. A message repeatedly comes up something along the lines of requesting map from server and then it says how its not working.

Is it possible that you installed the game to My Documents/ last time, and Program Files/ this time?

Delete the --home stuff from assaultcube.bat.

Worked for me (I had to move all my maps though).

Yes, I've grown to used to posting in offtopic. It is possible I did so, but im quite sure I didn't, and my friend only downloaded AC the once to get this problem.

assaultcube could not write configure to packages comes up, that seems to be the problem

I had this problem when I got AC for the first time. I just re-installed and the problem went away.
