jocksratos,
instead of being mad at the players who enjoy this game for what it is, maybe explore their world a little bit and you just might like it. I have played many gemas and @campers and can say that they are unappealing to me. That's my opinion of course, but don't knock it till' you've tried it.

He's right.
He's got the official map (douze), the custom map (@camper), and the GEMAs (parkour, horror, etc.). Can't beat that.

my suggestion was to not just play them, but play them well. If you explore the competitive scene of ac you might just find that teamwork and matches far outstrip the fun possibilities of an egocentric approach to the game.

I'd rather play Battlefield 1942/Battlefield 2/Battlefield 2142 for that.

I don't believe you've played enough to really grasp the true components of teamwork in this game. I don't mean that as an insult. In any competitive match (whether 2v2 or 3v3) there are multiple scenarios that arise. Every action that every player makes has a reaction that has an effect on what will (or can) happen within the game. Each team's ability to adapt and respond to these changing reactions is reliant upon communication, timing, positioning, etc. For teams who are worse fraggers, they can still win with better teamwork. If you really want to see what you are missing, I suggest keeping your mind open and exploring these things besides being stubborn and accusing the "elites" of being corrupt. There is a method to this game and maybe you just haven't experienced it yet. If you remain to be unhappy, I suggest trying to change the game (not likely with your current outlook) or find another game (like 1942/Battlefield 2/Battlefield 2142) or, as zarj suggested in another thread, fork the game and do what you will with it.

Anyways the sort of teamwork you described is possible in every fps game, it's not real teamwork. I don't play Assaultcube to be overly competitive.

He meant the "competitive" scene in AC whereby private matches are held between clans. Your point about players using cheats to know where the enemy is is pretty ridiculous. If you knew anything about FPS games, even on a relatively basic level, you should be able to comprehend the fact that players are able to understand where your enemies will be based on things such as, where you were killed from, hearing footsteps/gunshots, knowledge of the map/player, etc. The list goes on. Also, you should know that the majority of the more competitive clans dont just use in game team chat, but their actual voices (lolwut) to communicate. Please try to be a little more open minded and get your facts right before you insinuate the game has no teamwork, especially when you posted a screenshot of playing against newbs who have no intention of using teamwork.

Assaultcube is not a game designed for teamwork. Also, I do know what inters and clan matches are but I don't see the point in stressing yourself out by being overly competitive. Lastly, discrete cheaters are never banned from assaultcube. Someone may be using a wallhack, radarhack or esp but there's no way to prove it with the current anti-cheat software. Its not designed for Gema's either but that doesnt mean they shouldnt be in the game. Why would AC not be designed for teamwork if team commands are built into the game? Yes, they're never used, but still. And your point about descrete cheaters. Yes, unfortunately they're alive and kicking, but they are being banned from AC, and will keep being banned.

You realize that you can see your body after you have died, right? And you can see the enemy step over your dead body, take your flag, and then go to the left, center or the right?
Nice job on your K/D ratio. But please be understanding that all games have their pros and cons. If you were more of a veteran player you would probably understand what AC is all about and that there are team aspects to the game. Not every game is going to be a Call of Duty or Battlefield game. AC has it's distinctive features, whether you like them or not, or see them or not. There is nothing I or anyone else can do to help that situation. Considering that this game is FREE, unless you want to pay the devs money to play this game, be satisfied with the game how it is because as of now we do not have to pay the devs to play this game, or pay them for creating it. If there is something you'd like to see improved, why not make the effort to contribute because the devs do it every day. This game wasn't made by hundreds of developers, who do this as a living, who get payed a salary to sit down and work on a project like this. Be grateful that someone does put the effort in to make such a game that is free, and can be played on almost any computer.
As for the @camper map ownage, you did pretty good for someone of your skill level. If you do some day decide to take on more broader varieties of maps and maybe a few official maps you may be able to expand your knowledge of the game and game play, learn some tactics and realize that there is a RVSF vs CLA for a reason when playing CTF and some other game modes, rather than a free for all CTF. There is many levels of skilled players who play this game who might be amazed by your screenshot and then there may be some who might laugh. But as stated before, "don't knock it until you've tried it". Clans are another competitive aspect of the game. Clan matches or inter-clan matches are not only competitive but can help you gain more skill and learn many different tactics. So you can either play the game and be satisfied with it and contribute to it or leave it and go play Battlefield.

Well said ikljo.
I enjoy the gemaing as much as I enjoy the inters. Too bad that, and a LOT of players say the same, when you play more gemas than "fragging" modes, you tend to get worse in killing, :(. Maybe thats a reason why some people dont like gemas, they "take" away from the game in that aspect... @jockskratos, Id love to play along side you to show you how teamworking is a very fun aspect of this game, if you want, that is...

I say we make a Minecraft map AC gema style and place a chest of diamonds in the end. Then we publish it and give it to all gema players by spamming the map download link on all gema servers. IMAGINE ALL THE MONEY AND BABES WE WOULD GET.
plus it can maybe help make some gema players leave AC and get more interested in MC hehe |
