How do you pronounce it? I pronounce it like J (for Josh) EM (for Emily) AH (for Attack).
Is this actually the correct way or am I missing something here?
And as another offtopic question, where did gema's even come from or how did they start?

This is your way -> http://www.merriam-webster.com/cgi-bin/a....wav=gemma so I guess your way would be spelled gem ma notice that 2nd M.
I pronounce it G (for Gimp) EM (for Emily) AH (for Attack).
1 M and a G not a J.
I guess it's a matter of location.

I pronounce it the same as you.
I'd just like to know where the word comes from.
According to a google translation I did a while ago, it means "yolk" in Portuguese and "gem" in Spanish, although it might be the other way around.

A yolk is a gem, but, what came first: The mapper, or the jumper?

gemas started as training maps back to 0.93 then someone took all of these maps and edited and saved them with the name gema01, gema02 etc.

I can understand why, but I really only admire the more aesthetically pleasing gema's, where it doesn't look like it was made by a four-year-old (that goes for any other map, I don't like the @camper maps and I never liked Ezjem).
