Help!! Are there any ranks or levels in AC?

No, there are no things such as ranks built into this game. On the upside, you don't have to register (or pay) anywhere :)
However, there are ladders which use data from certain servers, e.g. the TyD ladder.

all you need to know is im the best. the evidence being i get kicked when i try to connect to any ladder server presumably because im just that good and the server owners don't want me joining in, dominating and end up spoiling the fun of my inferiors.
