Ok, I have been using FRAPS recently and the files for 1 game have been 1GB---4GB. What programs are there that I can use to format it to a smaller file and also, what format would that be?
TIA

just compress them

depends what sort of quality you're looking for, but size and bitrate affects file size a lot, as well as file format

I normally use either Expression Encoder for Windows, or VirtualDub:
http://www.virtualdub.org/ In VirtualDub, go to Video --> Compression, and it'll give you a list of codecs (already installed on your computer) to encode with. As far as I remember, you'll end up with an .avi video.

ffmpeg. If you don't like the command line, you could try converting through VLC.

Use windows movie maker.

Sony Vegas Pro 10 FTW!
You can edit if you like since it is editing software -.- but it does shorten file sizes from screen recording software by a lot while keeping the quality. You can also adjust quality, size, etc. Its really good software from all of the time I have spent with it. Get the trial and see what you think. Windows movie maker = one HUGE fail. (For me anyways)
