Tear you Down! presents: The AC 1.1 ladder (quick FAQ)

I remember the server "The HUB" from the HI-SKILL ladder which was located in Las Vegas. Many people had excellent ping, and it was always full during the day in my timezone. I think the main thing that brings people to a server is the ping, and I am completely sure that if a server would be placed somewhere in North America like the HUB, the players from the American continent would surely fill up the server.

Well, I'm thinking about running some KH servers from here in Illinois. So It'd probably be good ping for most N.A. players

Maybe if you're opened your eyes, you would see many servers contributing from the US. And it gives fairly good pings to everyone.

Two of the new DES servers from the United Kingdom has been added to the ladder.
  • DES|Baldrick OSOK
    /connect ultrapenguin.co.uk 28763

  • DES|Edmund CTF/HTF
    /connect ultrapenguin.co.uk 28792

They will soon be updated with an own OSOK and CTF/HTF maprot. Thanks goes towards Mr. Anderson for his contribution!

As a sidenote there will be an improved ladder version once the next release of AC is out. A couple of new scoring algorithms will be added, alongside with some style improvement.

I think the TyD ladder is going to have less and less players if they do stuff like this:

That has nothing to do with TyD ladder, it's a separate project. Also ping kick will just improve the overall quality of the game on the server. Do your homework next time before posting stuff that you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm not disagreeing with this, but kicking for 150 ping is a little ridiculous. AC is meant to be played by people with junky computers on junky internet connections. Especially for friendly pubs, this seems a little harsh.

My apologies. Yesterday when I saw
Luc4s Wrote:<Luc4s> SKB who modified tyd's servers to add the lag auto kick?
on #assaultcube I assumed that meant all of TyD's servers were being modified.

There have been planned U.S servers for some time now. However real life and other stuff that consumes time have been more important.

Brahma has shown interests in contributing with Brazilian servers for South Americans as well. In that particular case I think we are looking closer to the next AC release.

If you as so much as asked, or do proper research next time before posting you will know that all TyD servers which I own runs on Vanilla binaries. As SKB mentioned {TyD}Playground is a separate project which will launch sometime soon.

I don't see why this belongs in this post. If you want to advertise for that project, do it somewhere else than in this thread.

Edit: US TyD servers are coming soon!

Then you should kick for pings where the lag becomes actually noticeable, like 500 or smth. I have to agree with Zarj, 150 is ridiculous.

Not really any of my business but no one gets auto kicked for Ping on the two DES servers infact many players play with very high pings and I have seen the same on the other TyD Ladder servers.

Personal note, why when someone gives up their time and money to provide the community with servers to play on and a Ladder to compete on do people then jump in and complain often without even knowing the facts!

I dont always agree with everything TyD do, but I respect what they have given back to the community often in the face of constant trolling. I am proud to of been alowed to help even if in a small way.

Qoute from the ladder site "Start playing now! Its free, and always will be. "

think about that next time you wana complain...
