Question on making a server:

I read the guides, I understand some of it like the maprotation the blacklist etc...But what I don't understand is Forwarding a port. Which leads to my question.

How do you forward a port? I am confused. I understand this is needed to actually create the server. I'm also sure this is all i need to create one.
