If they start fucking with the sites I get my anime from, shit's going to go down. Luckily, most of the American entertainment industry doesn't really care about Japanese anime and a lot of what I watch isn't even licensed in the US, so I doubt that they will get around to it any time soon, but yeah.
The problem with that is that there was so much more to megaupload than just piracy, it was a site that allowed people to share their files, and quite a lot of it was legal. Shutting it down for the sake of helping to fight piracy would be like kicking people living in impoverished inner city areas out of their homes and closing off those areas to the public for the sake of helping fight drug abuse because there happens to be a large amount of drug dealing there. The point isn't that we think piracy is good, the point is that drastic actions like shutting down something like megaupload is a huge overreaction. Anyone who actually believes that these actions are justified and were the correct thing to do really doesn't deserve to have a voice as they have shown that they are willing to throw away the greatest modern technological development for the sake of jewing some more pocket money out of the people.

Sites like YouTube are never gonna be shut down, because they take piracy seriously, and take steps to fight it. As long as the US government continues to take down sites that are not legit, AC is going to be fine. You are still going to be able to surf the web. And people who are stealing what they have no right to are going to have to work a little harder to do so.
