6th Official Mapping Contest

We present to you the 6th official mapping contest.

Snow is the theme and there is no restriction on whether it supports team modes or not (i.e arena type maps are allowed).

The contest starts now. The deadline is January 1st, but you can enter your map at any time; just post the download link in this topic.

There will be no judges this time. At the end of the contest there will be a 2 week period in which the community will vote.

There will be an award for the best newcomer. Because the poll will be one-user:one-vote, this award will simply go to the highest voted newcomer map; there won't be a separate category as such. You must have been a major contributor to two, or fewer, maps to be considered a newcomer.

The rules:
* Map hasn't been released anywhere before in any form, not even as a beta.
* One map per person (more than one person per map is fine).
* No stealing.
* Anyone can enter; there are no requirements based on mapping experience.

If you enter a map before the deadline, you are free to work on it up to the deadline; the last version will be the one to be judged.

All contributors must be listed on a co-op map, and they cannot be named as a contributor on another map that is for the contest.

Custom media is allowed.

Prizes haven't been discussed as of yet. If you would like to donate a prize/prizes, please speak up about it.

Oh man this sounds great. I'm gonna have to find some spare time for this but I think I may actually participate as a beginner. One question: As a snow map, does the whole thing have to be snowed out or just outside parts where inside could be something else?

I'm guessing it will be like the last contest, where your map doesn't have to fit the theme at all, but it will do better if it does.

Yeah, the most popular mapper will win. That's what I think, too.

I think it's more about the maps that will be made and exhibited than what "wins". I'm excited about what maps will be created because of this.
