I'm posting this here for those who weren't in IRC at the time but are interested.
He's done this before:
Dec 18 15:13:44 <grenadier>    http://combatace.com/topic/2851-galen-thurber-up-to-his-old-tricks/
Dec 18 15:36:21 <RantingHuman>    I just realized
Dec 18 15:36:28 <RantingHuman>    The Gun Barrel is an anagram of his name
Dec 18 15:37:17 <grenadier>    nice
Dec 18 15:37:46 <RantingHuman>    confirmed insane
Dec 18 15:38:08 <grenadier>    :D

(If you go to his website, http://flightsimhq.org/, it says that his name is Galen Thurber)

Another thing that's noteworthy,  for a while he kept complaining about his website being attacked by DDoS, and how it was effecting his family's means of business (the only quotes I could find doesn't explicitly say it, but he wanted us to believe that he hosted his website from his home internet connection)

Dec 14 15:03:58 <TheGunBarrel>    when your goons attack my website, my routers, my family's ability to work from home, you have crossed the legal line.
//and again the next day:
Dec 15 15:50:28 <TheGunBarrel>    press 1 if you think my internet access & website should be Denial of Service attacked, don't be bashful

A bit later, after some things that I'll leave out to be concise, Stef said something which made me decide to check into something.

Dec 15 17:14:55 <stef|grue>    if he doesn't want outside trafiic on his "home IP", he should not run a server from there
//[...]
Dec 15 17:24:39 <Thrawn>    well stef|grue, you were right
//[...]
Dec 15 17:25:56 <Thrawn>    he was lying about hosting the site on his home internet connectio
Dec 15 17:25:59 <Thrawn>    connection*
Dec 15 17:26:07 <TheGunBarrel>    ?
Dec 15 17:26:26 <Thrawn>    It's a simple matter to query publically available information
Dec 15 17:26:30 <phantom->    ^
Dec 15 17:26:50 <Thrawn>    or heck, even the fact that the ip address of your website doesn't match the ip address you're using right now in IRC

And suddenly after this, suprise suprise, he got real quiet for a bit, and then after that, stopped mentioning his own internet connection when complaining about the "attacks" on his website

lol
