Am I Doing It Right

I try to open the file ac_server in the bin_win32 folder and it brings up the thing with a black background and white letters but it just goes away straight away. It then creates a new .txt document that I open in notepad and it brings up this in the notepad document

logging local AssaultCube server (version 1101, protocol 1130/104) now..
could not read config file 'config\maprot.cfg'
ERROR: AssaultCube fatal error: maprot unavailable

I want to start a server because I have made maps but I can't play them, Am I doing this right?

no, you have to run server.bat and edit config/servercommandline.txt ;)
