Quote:The Cimmerians, Greeks, Scythians, Goths, Huns, Bulgars, Khazars, the state of Kievan Rus', Byzantine Greeks, Kipchaks, Ottoman Turks, Golden Horde Tatars and the Mongols all controlled Crimea in its early history. In the 13th century, it was partly controlled by the Venetians and by the Genovese; they were followed by the Crimean Khanate and the Ottoman Empire in the 15th to 18th centuries, the Russian Empire in the 18th to 20th centuries, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and later the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic within the Soviet Union. In 1991 it became part of independent Ukraine, as the Autonomous Republic Crimea.

So, the Crimean region, has been pwnt a lot... and so on, so forth: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Crimea

How about we give it to the Greeks then, eh?

What is the goal and when will this invasion end?

ahaha you'd better ask the Obama administration that will be further
I think Putin is clearly in a recent interview said that he has no plans to join in the Crimea or any other part of Ukraine to Russia, another thing that the Western media is poured, then tells them that their leadership, and the words of Russians politicians do not reach your ear

in Ukraine there are many nationalists, Russian hate, someone took it .. and maybe itself beginning to boil ... (in Ukraine many people living almost on the verge of poverty, but in Russia the situation is no better, only a small layer of 20 people -35% can provide a more or less comfortable conditions for life)

//XRD edit: Translated

In Ukraine there are many nationalists, who hate Russians, and someone seems to have made use of it.. Or maybe it had started "boiling" by itself... (in Ukraine there are a lot of people living on the brink of poverty, however the situation is not that different in Russia itself; only a portion of people 20-35% can provide themselves a more or less comfortable life)...

If Putin wants Ukraine, it's his. There's really no stopping him, and no-one can sanction Russia through the UNSC, they can only sanction him through diplomacy.

NZ speaks mainly English, but if England came and tried to claim New Zealand as their own, we'd tell them politely to fuck off (it is the fucking queen, we wouldn't want to be rude about it).

you ever hear what I talk?
Russia does not capture other countries and peoples,Russia asks to take into account the interests of all parties, the East of Ukraine also participated in the political life of the country.February 21, facilitated by France and Germany, an agreement was concluded, which takes into account the interests of all parties in Ukraine.Russia does not occupy the Crimea or other part of Ukraine. But no one has repealed the nation self-determination if the citizens of Crimea will vote to secede from the Ukraine and the creation of their own state, that no one has the right to deprive them of this possibility

Has New Zealand ever done major military action?
And do they fight only for themselves, or would they protect Australia, etc. ?
Just wondering.

Military action? New Zealand? I'm pretty sure New Zealand isn't a superpower (or has substantial military might).

And as for "fight[ing] only for themselves", yeah nah. We have this national holiday called Anzac Day.

I meant Ukraine, but if you want to talk about the repartition of Europe into spheres of influence after World War II participated in not only Russia, but do not make Russia the devil, after the Second World War in how many wars to participate Russia and how many to participate U.S. and NATO?
