Why has AC never had a seperate akimbo model?

Seriously... why not? (sorry if the topic seems 'useless', but I honestly want to know why. >_>)

Because yes. Honestly, I don't see the difference of making the models the same as the pistol but two, or another model. I use hudgun 0 anyway, and it's not like I'm going to be examining other people's guns while playing.

Frankly I'm a little surprised you is the one asking such thing...

Have you forgotten the "The less is the best" #1 rule?
This would have meant an extra weapon model, including a "world" sub-folder.

I think its the same reason why pistol,knife and grenade are in the left hand and not right...they would look even more retarded if in the right hand:D

I can't see why the fact of being left or right handed would make you look more or less retarded.

I can elaborate dear Cleaner.
Look at the poses of the left hand and the right hand... ok? Now put the pistol into the right hand, ok? You are "shooting" to the side and not straight. Not to mention that the left hand would be empty and it would always be sticking out in a very retarded fashion.

Not sure if it would be possible to do some hacky stuff and rig the existing playermodel and add some extra animations to it (because its a vertex animation). I dont know, because i didnt try . Like AkimboAttack, GrenadeAttack and knifeAttack.

Because that would make sense and look less retarded... lets face it, you knife and throw grenades with a rifle attack kickback animation.

So probably it seemed like too much extra hassle to makkE (or who ever added the Action Quake 2 playermodel originally).

Ok, I see where you're going now, at first I tough left/right 'first person view' which doesn't make no differences at all since it's basically a coded mirrored image.

Regarding the "world" aspect of it I will have a closer look at this when I'm done setting up this brand new pc I'll be working with from now on.

In the meantime (just a hint) check between 'idle' and 'firing' animation frames, not too sure if it's worth the hassle reviewing all this for something one might not even notice.

I tried to put bones on the right arm only (of the idle animation).

It seems it would work.

Not sure exactly what steps need to be done because my brain isnt working well atm.

I guess copying the idle animation to new frames then doing that for knife, grenades and pistol.... oh and the crouch attacks.

Boring work, but possible.

The dual pistol should be implemented, I'm tired of meeting someone holding a lone pistol and getting sprayed down within half a second.
