AC freezing and not starting
#1
Ok so I downloaded AC recently and I tried to start it, but it was only getting to the splash screen. So, I went to the help forum and found some help on making the game run and start better. I tried everything I could, but I still only get to the splash screen, or on rare occasions to the first run menu. I got it to let me move around for about five seconds and then the game freezes. I am not sure what else to do to fix it since I've tried all that I could find and I know that my computer can run the game very well because I have done it before on it.

My PC Specs:
Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
Intel® Atom™ CPU N2600 @ 1.6GHz 1.6GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 2.00 GB
32-bit OS

Here's the console information when it freezes:

Any Help would be much appreciated! :)

I did try that... it worked for me last time I installed the game to the computer. It didn't work this time.. I also tried these in autoexec:
ati_mda_bug 1
hidebigmenuimages 1
texreduce 3 //Reduces texture resolution
trilinear 0 //Disables trilinear filtering
dynlights 0 //Disables dynamic lights
minlod 60 //Lower level of detail
vsync 0 //No vertical sync
gibttl 0 //No gibs
lighterror 20 //The higher, the faster, the uglier

So, Idk what else... I am going to try reinstalling it if the graphics card is already up to date. If you have any other ideas that would work please tell me. Thanks though :)

I re-installed it, but it did no good. :/ I know it can work on my computer fine... I've done it before. It's just that this time it is not working. Also I am pretty sure that my graphics card is up to date. I am going to keep messing with the settings until I can hopefully get it working. More suggestions would still be great.

Thanks, for everyone's help. I found out the problem... my OpenAL32.dll file was corrupt, but still worked enough to get the program running. I replaced it with a working one that I got from A BOOTLEG COPY OF AC and BAM! it was working again.

Thanks again,
