I will start an experimental map, first of all, I need to know what theme the communauty likes the most, the poll will obviously not show all themes AC can host, but there are most of those.
When you vote, please tell me why you prefer this one, and why you dislike others (if you dislike others).
Of course, some themes can be associated (i.e: urban and snow).
If you could tell if you prefer night/day/morning/end of the day, it would be cool, thanks.
The poll gonna end in 3 days.

I voted Desert, I like all the Deserts maps, maybe because they were the first ones I played on, but also because I like the way they're shaped.
I like clear maps, where you can clearly see where you're going, so I prefer "day maps".
But when it's not about playing but just checking out a map, I like nuances of lights and darker maps.
Good luck with your experiment mate!

I like urban maps in a dark setting, like ac_urban (duh!).

My vote went for Aztec maps. First of all, I think it's an underrated theme, and like any uncommon things on AC (Nieb textures were very impressives when they were used on maps, but since it's official and often used, it's not impressive anymore).
The theme cannot hurt the gameplay (mine theme is forcing the mapper to adapt his work) and offer many possibilities since Aztec civilisations are almost unknow, it's free to the mapper.
I prefer night (early morning, very end of the afternoon) because AC lights are kinda poor and it's the only way to make them beautifull, textures are more beautifull with a light themed map IMO. I think there is no real gap between day and night maps on the gameplay because all maps have inside rooms and it's to the mapper to make it bright or dark (dark places on ac_desert3).

A bit confused about what you mean by "aztec"?
Any examples?

Urban/outdoor!
Aztec is below the lowest of my picks, not because of the maps, I just don't like Aztecs as a civilization in RL.

I like 'aztec' themed maps mainly because I finsd it quite interesting and come from that culture. I like the sense of 'being' in an ancient time.
I would suggest you a new option: Gothic. THAT would be my second best option.

Any of them really, no particular taste...
I like any kind of map as long as it looks good neat and has a good gameplay.
you could add some themes like derelict, egyptian, fun, spaceship... Actually anything but GEMA!

Unless he's willing to use custom stuff.

I have an idea for a shipwreck if any slave mapper is willing to help me put my idea into physical being.

I think desert has been done too much already.
I like the industrial look, may need custom textures and models, could use a few good maps in this theme.
I have a rather strong dislike for actual snow but its an ok map theme.
Urban is also a good theme, and easily done with existing textures and models.
I have seen very few Aztec maps but they all looked good, could use more.
Mines, I hate ac_mines, but I really like ac_caverns, so I don't know.
I voted Desert because those maps don't have a lot of mapmodels and small paths like industrial maps, you always see a guy using a sh!tgun against you, so that means, you play better with a AR, Submachine, carbine and a sniper, because there are mid-hallways or a medium/large size path that give you time to hide or reload until you get fragged, such as desert3 and shine, sunset too... but ac_depot is a good industrial map, so i rather desert.

I voted Urban, and i prefer maps at night. I don't know particularly why, but its just that i find urban maps nice and more fun to play in. Gothic and urban are some of my favorite maps.
However, I agree with cleaner when he says the theme does not really matter as long as the gameplay is fine ^^

What about castle/fortress theme?
Those can be fun, if made right.
I remember back in my days of youth in AC there was a custom map that, although not very pleasing visually, was still pretty fun to play - DefendTheCastle_Regret anyone? :D

pointless post now but ac_nightcave's theme was always very attractive to me. Shame I've never played it with many people. Really not many maps like it at all.
