I have acquired Some weapon models.They were in MD2 format,so i was wondering if md2 models were viewable in first person or do i have to transfer them to md3 in order for them to show.

Can't actually remember the difference between them, but seeing as how the default gun models are md3, I'd suggest you convert them. They're pretty similar iirc, so converting them shouldn't be too much of a problem anyway.
