Could not set gamma
#1
I've had this problem for as long as i can remember, although when i first installed AC i don't think i had this issue.

here is my startup

C:\Program Files (x86)\AssaultCube_v1.1.0.4>bin_win32\ac_client.exe --home="?MYD
OCUMENTS?\AssaultCube_v1.1" --init
Using home directory: C:\Users\Home\Documents\AssaultCube_v1.1
current locale: English_United States.1252
init: sdl
init: net
init: world
init: video: sdl
init: video: mode
init: video: misc
init: gl
Renderer: GeForce 310/PCI/SSE2 (NVIDIA Corporation)
Driver: 3.3.0
init: console
init: sound
Audio devices:
Sound: Generic Software / Software (Creative Labs Inc.)
Driver: 1.1
init: cfg
Could not set gamma (card/driver doesn't support it?)
sdl:
init: models
init: docs
init: localconnect
read map packages/maps/official/ac_werk.cgz rev 4 (10 milliseconds)
Werk - by Mr.Floppy
loaded textures (167 milliseconds)
loaded mapmodels (4 milliseconds)
loaded mapsounds (653 milliseconds)
game mode is "TDM"
init: mainloop

I've also tried reinstalling AC as well.
when i actually try to change the gamma via the AC option it seems to change but its as if its only changing the brightness/lightness making the image more washed out as the setting is higher.

Mods, please move this to help forum -.-

is gamma not just brightness?

have you tried updating your drivers. Also try /gamma # (# meaning a number)

nvidia card? sometimes you have a control panel you have to tweak before it'll let AC control the gamma

This is true of my AMD card as well. I would imagine that most decent graphics drivers come with some proprietary control panel that configures which settings applications may and may not override.
