My first Dubstep Track [LINK FIXED]
#1
Well guys it's me Klutchy. As you know I love Dubstep. So I got inspired to make a song. I used Ableton Live 9 the best Professional music making program there is ( in my opi. :D). It would be AWESOME if you guys could listen to it and just post a reply right here if your 2 lazy to make a soundcloud :D. ANY criticism appreciated. Don't expect much

Took about a week at least 5 hours a day. My next song will be better* ( promises to myself).
p.s. Just for you guys I didn't use bold or blue font color.
:{D

My name Arkios [ Arr-Kai-Ohs]

If you really are that slow... than here's a link that will work.

Congrats! your IQs are lower than a rodent's.

Edit: The track is ok... you need a lot of work... the beat is very off... the wobbles are the same pitch with just a change in the WPS (wobbles per second) Keep at it, you'll catch on eventually.

What program are you using to make this?

Hi to you too!

KluTcH: Well, it sounded like a slow computer mating with a synthesizer, so uhh...good dubstep? :P
Alright, so I'm not a good person to ask about electronic music.

Oh man you got it all wrong! Don't worry though baby steps :P

First you need to work on your beat, it sounds like you would like a lot of complextro, so here's something you could listen to: http://audio.ngfiles.com/451000/451138_complextro_2.mp3

Secondly there wasn't really any bass dropping at all, it sounded more like a rap bass line than anything.

Listen to more Knife Party and stuff on youtube and lurk newgrounds a lot, then you'll find some ideas.

Keep going at it though bro I'm sure you'll get better! :D

One thing I was wanting was more full drum beat. I guess I like the more breakbeat style of drums than the DnB, but you needed something more to fill that empty area up. Be it a DnB style or a breakbeat style.

As an exercise, just make some drum beats on a drum machine like thing. Try to fill it up, without making it constant noise. You could also start with a solid pattern of 1/16th notes and remove them to try to help inspire you. Later on, you could start thinking about tuples, or make a 6/8, 9/8 beat or something and use duples O.O

* Ronald_Reagan likes tuples in base two beats.

Seems like they use some in the link above:
http://audio.ngfiles.com/451000/451138_complextro_2.mp3
Also think about swinging the beat.

HTH

PS. Tip #1 about learning anything: always watch/listen to things you call good, and try to imitate them.
If you copy the link above, you will be able to see clearly what it does that you like. Dont be afraid to copy/imitate. Btw, copy does not mean copy and paste, it means entering the notes in yourself :>

Tbh, the song is pretty awful. It seems like you don't have no sense of rhythm. I hope that's not the case, you just need to practice a lot.

from a non dubstep fan, twas ok. but as has been mentioned, the beat didn't sound good. it was too minimal, too boring. but i liked the sound effects used.

Get rid of the drums and the wobble, in [/align]fact everything that makes it considered Dubstep, and that harmonic synth shit, sounds pretty trippy.
