OK, so this is way off topic. However, I have a BIG problem. I need to know if there is ANYBODY at all connected with non-profit organizations or any other civil rights or anti-discrimination organizations in Southeast USA or more specifically Georgia (US). I have very close family members that are undergoing severe racial discrimination directly relating to their skin color. I am an advocate of equality in every sense. I am not concerned with any stupid or smart-ass comments. I need only people who care, and have influence, or know someone who has influence within the political structure in this area, or who has ties to related media organizations. I know this is a strange place to post something like this. However, I am desperately seeking help in this area. Also, if anyone has family ties or otherwise with attorneys in Georgia that are willing to do pro-bono work for poor African-American citizens that have been severely discriminated against, this would also be very helpful. Please resist the temptation to joke about this. Peoples lives (including children) and quality of life are at stake here. I am just one voice, with the hope that if I am loud enough, I will be heard. More voices=harder to ignore.

I'm pretty sure the ACLU was founded to provide a pipeline of pro-bono legal work for situations like what you describe.

Fucking racism: They must pay bills as everyone and respect laws as everyone .... You can choose European socialistic model, solidarity of white working with colored one who are full of bullshits about racism.
I was very surprised in medicament store yesterday where healthy colored man just showed some paper from social office but we had to pay everything, i think this is racism, this kind of solidarity.
And i have nothing against people with other skin, i have many friends of this kind from university, love their kitchen but i hate these bullshits about racism. You create that racism yourself, your position: "i am here new, help me, don't be racist !!"

Racism is just something black people uses to sue people and get money and publicity. Stop the bullshit about racism and live like any white man out there and u wont notice any racism around u, immigrants living on the tax payers money and criminal immigrants creates racism, and is it really that weird? STOP living in a stupid dream world, grow up, do something with ur life, and stop whining about racism and bad people. We dont care.

*If you have nothing useful to say, don't bother posting on this thread. I am not an activist of any kind. This is in an attempt to help people close to me. I am not living in any kind of "dream world". And by the way, my family is Norwegian. Considering you call yourself a "Real Viking" I would think you would know better than to think I am some sort of hot-headed activist, if you had read and considered more in depth my post. I am not concerned with anything at all until it affects my family. BTW: Want to know what I have "done with my life"? Consider reading my profile, and that will give you an inclination, if only slight. Also, I don't think that "We don't care" is an accurate thing to say. I sincerely doubt there is anyone that frequents the AC forum that would agree with what you said. I think they will just see you as a troll, but that is just my opinion.

There is people who use "racism" as a way of disguise for their lacking in human conscience. There are others who use it as an exploitation of other human beings, with full knowing of their wrong doing. This late ones live in societies where it somehow benefits their personal interests.
The solution comes by letting kids grow under a more civilized scientific approach with common sense teaching based on our milleniums of knowledge, then "racism" would be eradicated.
For example, in Spain, people don´t understand we have been mixed with multiple civilizations having a tremendous genetic heritage (from the Hallstatts to the Muslims as wel as Romans, South-American...). if you do research on any given Spanish self called "racist" you would find that his gene pool is "controversial" to say the least. In USA and the rest of the world (Morrocans who are racist over Mauritanians, Hindi over Tibetans, Japanese over Chinese and Korean...) the same problem will persist until a new era of human conscience emerges from the ashes of this world order one. Maybe its after a nuclear holocaust or you name it but this is only the tip of the iceberg...

If you think racism doesn't exist, you are the one living in a dream world. Racism is a part of human nature. This doesn't mean we should embrace it; stealing, lying, and killing are also part of human nature. Of course, this doesn't mean there is nothing we can do to combat it, but to eradicate it completely would be impossible.

The ACLU is a great resource for most civil rights issues. Also, i'm almost certain the NAACP has some type of information/query organization that could provide additional knowledge about supporting groups. GL mate, hate to see bullshit like this happen in our modern times.

1) is actually racist, and/or
2) lives in an area where racism isn't very pronounced.

There is nothing of natural in human behaviour. Everything we think, say and do to others was taught to us and it is dictated by culture, not nature nor instinct. Naturalise any form of prejudice or exploitation is a huge mistake that only deepens the problem. We were taught for a along time that the color of our skin, the way we talk or the clothes we use can be use to classify us. That is not by any means true, or natural. People can be taught to think differently, no one is born hating others.
Boomie, ACLU would probably point you in the right direction! Really hope you can help this family!

Thank you all for your responses. I have contacted the ACLU and received a response from them. Apparently they are indeed going to provide legal help. I will let everyone know what happens.
