Introduction
I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find an AssaultCube strategy guide. So I decided to write one. Besides, everyone knows I need one of these. And there just isn't an adequate guide for new players. If only they visited the forums once in a while....
This guide is optimized for AC 1.1. When 1.1.1 comes out, GL.
Disclaimer: I'm just an idiot on the forums trying to help. But it's not as if you have any strategies anyways.
Movement
Press W.
Knowing the maps
Take the most populated route and run for the enemy base.
Jumping
Not necessary unless there is a ledge in your way. In that case, press spacebar, but don't forget the other movement strategy.
Crouching
If you are a short person in real life, press Shift to crouch. It will make the game much more realistic.
Crouch jumping
If you are a duck in real life, press shift in mid-air to crouch jump. It will make the game much more realistic.
Straferunning
Not necessary. Why run diagonally when you can run straight? Obviously, it's better to take the direct route.
Rifle jumping/sprinting
Do not attempt: the shotgun does not have enough pushback.
Grenade jumping
Throw grenades at your own feet and hope you jump in time.
Edge jumping
Spam the spacebar when climbing two ledges in succession.
Weapon
Shotgun
Spy check
To perform a spy check, stand at a doorway near you base and shoot all players who pass. If they are a spy, they will flash the enemy team colour. Spies can also disguise as your own flag carrier, so be sure to block him and shoot him just in case.

- Reload time: too long
- Time between shots: about a second
- Damage: it gibs, so I guess it's as much as a grenade
- Shots to kill: 1, unless enemy is haxx0r
- Ammo: unlimited!1!!!
- Time to kill: instant
- Frags gained: 1
