Broken Headshot Code?
#1
I will upload a demo. At 5:25 put it into /gamespeed 10
Do you think this bullet goes straight through his head?

Why we complain about bullets going through peoples head, can mean the difference between a flag and a no flag. The server was hlin.woop.us 9999 match :)

EDIT: 5:25 remaining.

Dont you think it was just lag?

Or a bug like the one in the SVN

No, he stopped moving, stood still. If I scope in on his head and headshot him he should die, there was no lag lol

Cbf'd dl demo, Who were you trying to shoot?
Thanks given by:

thats the hitbox, you shot right at the edge of his head
Thanks given by:

It's good that people take the time to watch the demo before commenting. For the lazy-bones, here's some screenies:

I'm not a sniper rifle user, but it looks like a stick-on HS to me. In the last image you can see that there's no blood at all. Sonic has 20 HP before and after the shot, but the shot clearly hits, as the trail doesn't continue past his head.
My first thought was that the anti-cheat code resulted in the shot being ignored, but I believe this server doesn't use it; I could be wrong.

Thanks jamz for taking the time to actually watch the demo and clearly see the bullet hit his head :-)

hlin use anticheat.
Thanks given by:

Yeah, thus why anticheat is crap.

There is no proof of the anticheat being involved in this "problem" ATM.

I did watch the demo and the scope was only on the edge of the head.

So that bullet stream misses his head?

You're missing the point Rob. The shot clearly hits, since the smoke trail doesn't continue past the head, yet it does no damage at all.

If it is anticheat related, try to repeat it 20 times in a row, and check if you are autokicked ;)

From eQ|Giberix. Quite the same, and we can tell for sure it isn't lag. I leave it up to someone to count the number of times the sniper didn't but did hit.

Im gonna LOL if someone says it was lag for me too.

0:10
1:05
2:00
2:20

how yall gonna sit here and say thats lag when we both have about 200 Ping and low PJ?

Yes... I agree, the code must be checked. But this looks like the same issue reported by Sebacious some months ago... so, nothing new here.
Thanks given by:
#21
Well will you fix it for the next version please? :D
Thanks given by:
#22
No, I believe that it will be left untouched, as most fairly big bugs are.

The thing is, is that afaik, there isn't many leads as to the issue :P
Thanks given by:

what are you doing then?

Well, they can't do much considering they don't know what the problem is.

From what I can see, Gibarix had to get close to kill that other guy.

Well then clearly the devs need to fix it. It can mean the difference between a win or a loss.

wow! Gibby there is NO denying that vid. I was wondering about this.......... but I just thought I had gotten terrible at AC in the last few months. The latter is still more likely ;p BTW, this didn't seem to happen before the tinkering with the hit-boxes.

Exoduss is right.

Dev team: FIND WHAT'S WRONG AND FIX IT. :D

Then the devs need to get working on it don't they.

They are :P
The dev team isnt lazy. Especially with their number. My last postwas just purely my observations, no particular insight.

Boomhauer, much has changed than just hitboxes.

EDIT: Sorry! :(
