Yes, that is the camping spot in Urban where you can throw nades into the spawn base
1) The fact that you can do half decent with only the knife

This is the final score. The only kills i got without knife were two with AR in the beginning.
If anybody has any other reasons to love pubs, feel free to post em.

I love the pubs because of those shotgun noobs. It gives me a sense of acomplishment whenever I kill one.

NO PROBLEM!
Just press "b" ingame and select the amazing overpowered shotgun, and you will see fantastic changes in your ratio!.
You'll only have go through the map and the shotty will do the rest.... Did you see an amazing sniper player? Don't worry, call your shotty friends and shot his ass till you see his flesh in the ground!.
It doesn't matter if you have blindfolded, your success is guaranteed!!!

I like pubs because I don't have to play at the top of my game. More relaxing and stuff!
Plus 20 player TOSOK on Douze is always interesting. Usually a few players left after mass spawn kills and such. =p

I love the pubs because my server is one. Sure the majority of the peeps that play on them can't shoot straight but it gives me a sense of accomplishment when I don't come last on the scoreboard.

Shotgun is the newb weapon. AR in my opinion is the jack-of-all trades master of none; it takes a bit more skill to use than shotgun, though by the time you learn to shoot in 1 to 2 shot bursts instead of using it on automatic for 20-shots and learn to use it at long range to take advantage of its accuracy over SMG, it becomes a good weapon. You can snipe with it if you have good aim and it's better at close range than a sniper rifle due to crosshair and ROF. However, by the time you're good with AR you might as well switch to carbine, which is a better weapon IMO.

right, but most maps have short to medium hallways, not open areas. when you round the corner and there is a shotgun sticking in your face, you are dead meat (unless they are a crappy player). This is how it should be. What shouldn't be happening is when you are in a medium length corridor (sides of ac_shine, for example) and a shotgun player pops out at the other end from you. even if you kill him, which you probably will if you are using AR, carbine, or sniper, he will be able to inflict a lot of damage. while this may be more realistic, it doesn't do much for the balance of the game. IMO, the shotgun should be the gun version of the knife, with one hit kill power at < 8 cubes, two hit kill power at 8< x < 16 cubes, and then dropping exponentially from there, to make it basically useless at anything more than 24 cubes.

:) I rarely use the shotty anymore. But I used to all the time.... I think it is pretty much useless anywhere but arid and mines. But I would like to say, I don't have a problem with shotgunners at all. Neither do I dislike campers. I like all of the quirks of the game. IDC what gun you use, if you rule ass with that gun THEN GO FOR IT!
