IRC page wont work...

i would like the IRC page to work and it just wont.
i saw that i need to download java, so i did.
then i saw i had to enable javascript, so i did.
and it still wont work, do i still need to have a client or something?

It would be best to use a client. There's mIRC, chatzilla, Quassel and PChat for Windows to name a few. Do you get an error message? What doesn't work?

when i press the link for the IRC page, it will load the page but on that page is a big empty black box with a small white square in the top left corner with a red cross in it.
i presume that where the IRC goes.

i did have mIRC for a while but it was a trial and it ran out.

Just try a different client, double check your java, etc.

EDIT: every thing is working fine from what i can see.

My mIRC trial ran out too (I'm on mhy brothers old comp, so it was already installed, I am currently at 630 days, which is about 600 over the trial) but it still works, it just pops up this thing when you start it telling you to register.

i have found a site called mibbit.com. its like a browser client.
it tells me i am currently connected but i dont think its working.

Use Chatzilla, but it's for if you're using Firefox, I don't believe there's a separate, non-addon version

I would go with Gibstick's advice. Grab an IRC "cLIENT" It would make life way easier on yourself. There are about 10jillion ones out there, some with txt only if you are of the 1337.
