Recently I've gone from XP Pro to Windows7.
When playing AssaultCube on XP it ran ok.
Since windows7, it's not playable?
Trying to update graphics drivers now, have tried dropping resolution, but only to 800x600. That only halved the problem, but didn't fix it.
Sorry if I'm in the wrong area for this thread, or it's a question floating around already?
Any suggestions would be helpful thanks.
I've played in windows seven and, it's ok
idk what happened

It looks as though the problem may be fixed.
Installed latest drivers and hey presto. I've lower rez to 800x600 as well, now to try the online experience.
Yeah there was more than a second delay until I got the drivers.
I should probably check for updates with DirectX
Thanks, should have just waited to see what would happen with driver updates, thanks anyway.
Can shut this one down, by the looks of it.

Assaultcube does not use directx, it uses openGL.

i think it is your computer's problem. you have to check ur system before upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7.
Windows 7 uses a lot of memory. (1~2GB RAM is just enough to run win7). you gonna need a bit more to run some advanced programs

Thanks for your replies, when I had been having problems with XP I borrowed a friends copy of Windows 7.
I ended up with more problems with resolution, and decided to go back to xp, couldn't keep using Windows 7 anyway, I don't own it.
Stay with xp and resolve the problem I'm having with it.
It's looking unrelated to AC and more and more like a Maleware problems.
