Help with map

ok so I am new to map making and would like some feedback on how I could improve this map. Akimbo did not upload for me so you can find it here http://www.filefactory.com/file/b530h92/...loaded.zip

any and all feedback would be welcome.

the map is called Stargate reloaded, this map is based upon the cheyenne mountain complex and the gate room.

Nice attempt at a map but it feels like a gema really to me... I was running around and i just saw endless tunnels leading to other endless tunnels. When making a map try to add some variation to the flow of the rooms. This allows for interesting and "fun" gameplay instead of just hall fragging and no chance for tactical gameplay. Also there is little detailing on 90% of the map. Additionally the colored lights made me laugh but the white lights throughout made the mood feel stale and boring at best.

And no offense but if you want to upload something please use something like box.net or rapidshare etc. instead of these crappy "Wait 30 seconds or you'll actually be downloading porn" sites

AKIMBO vault is what I would use. Or Quadropolis, although Quad doesn't work for me....:s

viper: thank you for the feed back, I will try to add some variations to the map. however, I need to leave the blue lighting for the stargate.

Fogulis: I was not sure what needed to go with the map so I uploaded all the models and textures I had to go with it.

Do some footwork and put this pack on a diet! (translation: Take out the unnecessary media!)
I like the gate lighting, don't let anyone else tell you bad things about it. It rawks.
As Viper indicated, shorten the tunnels a bit (or even a lot).
Try not to use long stretches of the same texture. Break up the monotony!
I noticed two places that need more mundane attention:
First is an extra "pistol" ammo entity on top of another one. Delete one there.

Then there is a place where there are some stairs, but the last step is missing, making the player have to jump to get up the stairs:

I turned on my position indicator in the bottom-right of the screenshots to help locate the places more easily.

* MykeGregory failz hard at spelling.
so, think for example this is a long coridoor, perfect for sniping, mix it up with boxes to hide behind and nade placements. thats what i do.

@v-man: Thank you I will put some bends in some of the tunnels to shorten them
I had a b...um hard time putting the stargate together with only geometry. Hard to make a circle out of squares.
@MykeGregory: I think I will take your advice and turn one of the tunnels into a snipers tunnel.
@all: I think now that I have this input I may revamp the map and turn into something like the Rangers trainging courses, but keep the startgate theme.

I wasnt really saying that the lighting was bad for the stargate but other than that its kinda a failz. Also the uploading info was only to be used if you cant upload with akimbo or the quad.

oh ya, i'm keeping that thing in the map, just because it came out so nice. that and I enjoyed learning how to build it.
