Ok so If I accidentally saved over a map with another map but didn't mean too then is there any way I could get my original map back (btw no one else saw the map)

I forgot. Look for a file called <mapname>_<n>.BAK in [SELECT ALL] Code: .assaultcube_v1.1/packages/maps/ (Linux) n is a number telling you when the backup was made. If you rename the most recent backup of that map to <mapname>_<n>.cgz you will be able to see it in the menu and begin editing it to see if it's the version you wanted. If it is, (and you want to get rid of whatever you saved over it) you can rename it to <mapname>.cgz.

Each time you save your map, AC renames the old one with a .bak file extension. To access that, just remove the .bak at the end, as eftertanke described.
