Ideas
possibly to prevent spamming it in pubs? Although if that is the case, wouldn't it be better to say "not usable in mastermode 0"?

Orynge, cause there is no reason why you would need that in a pub, obviously.

lets ac grow, up the MB from 50 to 100. Even 100 is still far less than alot of games out there.

- Teamates health and armor shows up in the HUD when you put your reticule on them.
- Team oriented voice coms incude a specific player when you put your reticule on them
* E.g. "Sorry" would become "Sorry, unarmed" when you typed v42 when looking at a team mate.
* The same would apply to "Thanks", "i'm on your team, man", " Report in" etc.
* The same could also be done when spectating a player. "come on, move" would acctually mean something.
- Some form of hitmarker could be a good idea. coupled with the hitsound it would be helpfull.

discuss...

GOOD IDEA.

Idea: Assault Cube Map Auto Repair (Heightfield and "K" Errors (corner), and it fixes texture errors (when u save it, it changes the texture for some reason) and also, it fixes cfg errors.)
Thanks given by:
That is asking for a bit too much to be honest Jg99, most of those things are the responsibility of the map author.

What's the difference between spamming /coinflip and spamming using chat?

I don't see that as a reason to restrict it...

I think he's referring to when saving the map causes unintended texture changes -- though I'm not sure if that's an actual bug or just caused by misuse of the mapping features.
Thanks given by:
It does it to me all the time and i think its a bug
Thanks given by:
I think you just have the wrong cfg. file :/
Thanks given by:
Its not with having the wrong cfg file but could be a problem deriving from it. I have seen this problem before, usually around large amounts of height fielding, but it's very uncommon and as stated, is usually caused my map tools abuse.
Thanks given by:
The texture change on savemap is a bug in the engine, but not one that can easily be fixed or even automated. It has to do with multiple different textures in close proximity of each other (and the way the engine tries to block textures together to save video memory I would guess), and yes heightfields do increase your chances of running into this bug. Manually fixing it involves making a larger than needed selection of cubes and changing them to the desired texture, saving the map and hoping that it doesn't glitch again. Trying to script a tool that would automatically fix these would be nearly impossible, because each one will probably be unique and require different selection sizes and what not. Even detecting where these errors are would be close to impossible to automate.

Some things will always require a human's touch when it comes to map making, this being one of them.

Put in X-Ray Dogs Zombie mode! This has to be done :P
Online on zombies would be soooooo perfect.

Maybe this is not a good idea but for some time now I´ve been thinking that it could help if there was colored mark in each team base. A red marker where the CLA team and a blue one in RVSF. Maybe a blue box, or a red tile in the floor. It should be something subtle but striking. Also different hit sound when hitting teammates???
Thanks given by:
The person who makes the maps can do that themselves. Its up to them.
Also force to spectator is another thing I'd like.

Has any dev considered the idea already mentioned of modifying the location of the HUD icons by yourself in an easy way other than editing the source? Like doing it straight in-game through a menu and such.
Thanks given by:
I like that idea wolf! They need only allow us to move them with x y parameters in cubescript and there will be many inventive changes to it. I would like a more dynamic hud. Eg a healthbar, transparent menus. Although somethings might be hard to change :P

sound file that is played when you hit someone with the knife. I understand that you can use hitsound to know whether or not you hit, but this small addition would make knife so much more satisfying. This is especially true of mods that replace the knife with a bludgeoning weapon; It feels lame to smash your AssaultCube© down on someone's head and only hear the little beep of the hitsound.

drop spread on every gun, balance the weapons, put ac on steam, develop a community.

Do i have any tutorial?, no that would be ridiculous. this is the ideas section and those are my ideas. I appreciate the ignorant response we have all come to expect from the dev team members. But why not put it on steam?

A. Steam is a resource hog.
B. Steam mucks up a lot leaving the game unplayable.
C. Steam would downgrade performance on the game on on older systems.
D. Steam forces you to go through its client, it would be a hassle.

It is much better to distrubute through this site. Steam may work all good and well on a fast internet connection closs to a Steam Datacentre but this is quite often not the case for a lot of people. And plus I dought Valve would host it.

Does this not already exist?
ya'know. clans, forums, etc.

Valve anticheat system would be nice though? right?

My Idea:
for server owners, why not have a /blacklist option. So like;
/kick 5 teamkiller
/ban 2 Flag TKer
/Blacklist 6 impersonation.

and using the /blacklist option it could automaticly write the offenders info to a seperate log file, such as IP, BL reason, time/date etc. To copy and paste to BL thread.

Yes, a Anti-Cheat system would be very nice. But the devolpers are capable of implmenting one themselves, they just say it increases server load.

A cubescript command to display an image on the screen
e.g. /image <file name> <x coord> <y coord>
would display the chosen image file to the screen at the the specified coordinates

^^Also known as a clever way for people to get a crossair for the sniper.
Thanks given by:
If a crosshair was built-in by default it would not matter.
Thanks given by:
But unless I'm servely blind the Sniper Rifle does not have a crossair. or has this changed in the SVN?
Thanks given by:
Hypothetically.
Thanks given by:
step 1: find something sticky
step 2: stick it to the center of your screen
Wow! now you have a crosshair for ALL your weapons, including sniper!
What you don't have, though, is the ability to quickly or automatically change the position of anything you have sticking to your screen.
