Either way - I thank you because you do have some great intentions, I know this.

AC is at a hard crossroads right now as we watch the competitive scene begin to diverge on to their own path entirely, while many of us are trying to figure out how we can make the game we love more attractive for new(er) players...

I've said it before, but we just need to quit sh***ing on newer players, and instead give tolerance and a kind word of advice where it is pertinent.

Competitive types want to fork off in to their own scene and I see very little work being done by this type of player for shrinking the skill gap that has developed in-game. (Just my observation)

Meanwhile, we do see new players trying out the game and joining in, but without any kind of guidance or incentive to develop skill-sets - outside of kill-count. (Or very little guidance anyway)

While I wholeheartedly think the alternative match client scene is a neat idea and fills a void for the people who have bought in to it, I think it is also guaranteeing a further demise of the competitive scene by becoming so distant from the main community and secluded from the masterserver, in the name of rapid-development.
The rate with which new players grow and develop is not fast enough, at the moment, to ensure an expanding and enriching experience inside the competitive scene.

And creating a separate environment controlled by a slim amount of people who have minimal involvement within the main community is not a solution to the issue.

As I see it now, the AC community has already forked in this sense. And no amount of prize money can fix that. Said only IMHO (It is fair to disagree)

But now, I must apologize to have used this as a means for a tangent that has gone completely off-topic. And I am thankful there are some out there that still believe and are trying to help the late-joiners to bloom in to cubers.

And, again - thank you, vector, for trying to make a difference. =)
