gibs equal to 1, or 2 frags?

Hi! I've been reading the documentation for assault cube and finally finished it yesterday. well, i was going to ask if a "Gib" [kills from grenades] equal to 1 or 2 frags. the documentation says it equals 2, but whenever i play the game, it always counts as one frag. I've tried re-downloading and resetting my settings to default but never seemed to change. is it because the docs are wrong, or am i wrong?
