Despite the prevalence of team modes in AssaultCube, the team aspect is sorely overlooked. Here are some teamwork tips to help you get the most out of your teammates.
1. Shield
Running (or camping) behind a teammate can give you vital seconds to defeat the enemy. While your teammate is taking the first round in the crotch, you can be lining up your own perfect shot. Make sure you step aside before firing.
2. Suicide Scout
There's a tendency in TOSOK games to rush right out of the base and into the enemy swarm. This is foolish! Wait a moment and let a teammate get ahead of you. Wait for them to go around a corner and get perforated, then pop out and dispatch the enemy before they have time to fire again. An alternate method is to jump around the corner, take a pot-shot, and run away again, then let your teammate go ahead and get killed. If you're lucky, the enemy will think that your teammate is you, and won't expect you to come around the corner at them again.
3. Distraction
This one is for the latter end of a round. If a teammate is in a drawn-out battle with one of the enemy, this is a perfect opportunity for you to rush in from the enemy's blind spot and steal the kill. Just make sure not to hit the teammate who so kindly kept the enemy busy for you.
4. Springboard
If you pull it off just right, you can land a jump on a teammate's head, giving you an unexpected boost and maybe even an airborne headshot on the enemy. No one aims all the way up there, so you'll be safe even if your teammate gets shot down.
Additions are welcome. :D
