If your computer has an hdmi output and your tv is an hd tv that has hdmi imputs then you would need an hdmi cable.. If your computer only has vga or dvi outputs then you would either need a computer monitor or an hd tv type computer monitor(which are more computer monitor sized)..
as for your fps, it wouldn't change, because the display(tv, monitor, etc) doesn't effect that part of the game.
