It may sound silly but it's why you never see a hentai film winning an award at a film festival.
Anyway they need to have a plot otherwise it's just an octopus-looking-thing comes on to land and starts doing unrepeatable things to anything that moves and that's messed up as it is never mind it doesn't even have a motive.
