Indeed, Matasar's work although excellent is way too high poly to fit Assault Cube.
His crossbow model is 8627 vertices, tbh I thing that's even more vertices than the entire actual 'mapmodels' folder.

As for the playermodel skins, it's Protox who made them and you can find the full package here on AKIMBO but be aware that they are Hi-Res and it might bring your FPS down.
