True enough. But people should know better than to just have a single copy of a file. Most of the legal files on MegaUpload should have also existed on a hard drive somewhere, and could easily have been uploaded to another site.

I don't agree with this analogy at all. Shutting down MegaUpload was an inconvenience for people, not something that should drastically affect their lives. And besides, shutting down the site was more like busting a single house for drugs than closing off an entire neighborhood. If the US government had suddenly decided to block all traffic from a particular country, then that would be like cordoning off a whole neighborhood.
