I actually consider the removal fair for now, although i don't know how long must be a clan to become inactive, since i remember playing last year (clan matches or so) until september.
about the forum inactivity i gotta be honest, no one ever uses it and that's normal since we use IRC mostly, but i can't really confirm anything since i've been pretty inactive last months and i haven't check IRC often, but yes Etch may be the most active of clan as far as i know.
the 3" Wiki page is pretty dead and i don't know how to help on that, as only clan leader have access to it, and i see Etch doesn't.
and for the last line, you got me there i really don't know what to say, i know we played some clan matches but i can tell 2011 was for me the less i've ever played on this game, but there may be at least some scores on TyD ladder.
Well in a nutshell clan has faded slowly since the latest releases but i expect a comeback with the new version.
