Oh, I had to reset.

yeah, like frogulis said, you have to first give the applet focus by clicking in it. I looked online for a way to automatically give the applet focus when it loads, but I couldn't find a way that worked :\
Specifically, C, V, and B change the colors of the lines/background and also change the starting position. (in addition to clearing the current lines)

Try reloading the page. The hosting service I am using is pretty awful (but it's free).
