As I said, try different levels and you'll find one you like best.
Theoretically, the FPS should be kept as steady as possible.
Often, people's most comfortable FPS level is synchronized with their monitor refresh rate (/vsync 1), usually between 54 and 72 FPS (commonly 59 or 60) -- or a multiple of that number.
