I'm not so sure Cemer, I've never used it that way and anyway it's easier and faster to push your middle finger down than move your thumb up to the G.

You don't press down the middle button to reach any G.
You can press down keys 1 and 3 to get low G.
Open valves to hit a middle or high G.
