since the server-config files are re-read every so often you could have some scripting (shell or otherwise) to re-write the config at intervals .. but that's a poor-man's random-maprot.
The basic idea of a map-rotation is to have some sort of order .. so I'm rather stumped at the why? of your original question. Naturally, it's easy enough to do via some simple modificiations to the engine .. after all - this is an open-source project - just be aware that any self-compiled server will not have the anticheat code embedded. The anticheat (ACAC) is closed-source only and get's delivered in our release-package-binaries.
